Back in August 2007, I wrote a chapter in a non-fiction anthology. It was about David Lodge, a wonderful author who has been a huge inspiration to me ever since I first met him at a book event at Birmingham about 8 years ago. The article was published in a non-fiction anthology called Common Ground: Around Britain in 30 Writers, published by Cyan books. It was a collaboration between the members of a writers group called 26. My chapter is called “Your Time Starts Now: Examining what’s real in David Lodge’s Birmingham”.
Lodge – a proper writer – very kindly described my piece as ‘delightful… Amusing, evocative and well-written.’
