News out this week that Uncle Monty’s legendary cottage is up for sale. Sleddale Hall, a remote country farmhouse in Cumbria, is for sale at the humble guide price of £145,000.
In between picture researching wholesome country images for Warburtons, I’m desperately trying to find a way to buy it, do it up and make it into a lovely inspirational writers retreat. Or better still, a themed B & B for Withnail devotees or stag weekends. Working title: ‘Monty’s’, ‘Scrubbers’ or ‘Come on holiday by mistake.’ Any better suggestions?
